During the month of May I held a positive behavior challenge for my 5th Grade kids. At the end of the month, students who consistently came to class with responsible and respectful behavior had their names placed into a drawing for six end of year rewards. Below are the celebration outings which included going to get Frozen Yogurt, creating Artwork at the Accidental Artist and having a Pizza Picnic in the Art room with a movie. I loved celebrating with my kids and am so proud of these students who really shined with their positive behavior this month. I look forward to clelebrsting next year with my new fifth graders.
First grade students learned the secret to drawing LARGE as we studied Georgia o'Keefe's large flower paintings. We even went out to the school garden and drew from observation before painting and mixing new colors❤️
I am so proud of my kids! We created coil cylinders and then learned how to creat forms and textures to create the faces. Great job 5th Grade!
Our sweet kindergarteners have been learning all about texture rubbings the past 3 weeks. Today we drew fish and went on a texture hunt around the classroom and outside to find textures that would feel like fish scales. I can't wait to see these fish cut out and glued onto the oceans we're painting next week! 🌈🎨❤️
Congratulations to our four students representing our school at the Spring district Art show! Kindergarten students learned about texture by going on a "texture hunt" outside. Students learned how to use their crayons and paper to create a rubbing and had a blast sharing their discoveries with other classmates! These textures will soon be used in our Ocean Art project...
3rd graders using iPads to research coral reefs, record facts, and sketch ideas. They loved the video! @OaksRoadOwls
